Intro: In 1938 Germany demanded that the world turn over a part of Czechoslovakia to him because he asserted that the German’s living there were under attack and being oppressed. On 30 September 1938 Neville Chamberlain announced that Europe acquiesced to those demands and proclaimed, “Peace for Our Time.” On March 15, 1939, Hitler Marched into Czechoslovakia, and on September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland on a pretext of “liberating” the German minority that were being persecuted. They also claimed that Poland and the Czechs had attacked Germany first. Does that sound familiar? - Jack M. Wilson | |
